Ashkenazi and Sephardi

This is very very very generally speaking.  However, it was the working definition a friend gave me of the difference between Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jewish population.

Ashkenazi are Jewish people descended from Central Europe and some parts of Western Europe.  So, Hungary, Poland, Germany etc.  Sephardi is more…Mediterranean I guess.  Originally from Spain, but after they were driven out Morocco, Italy, France, the Middle East etc.

You can imagine how different the food is from these two groups.  Just look at the weather, the local influences (spices, available food) and what the needs would have been.  My wonderful husband is Ashkenazi so that is what I am mostly exploring, but Sephardi food looks exciting also!
